Ausgangspunkte für ihre künstlerischen Konzepte, die von Humor, Melancholie und Ironie geprägt sind. Sie studierte Bildende Kunst an der Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig sowie Experimentelle Bildhauerei an der Kunstakademie Düsseldorf in der Klasse von Prof. Rosemarie Trockel. Seit 2003 Ausstellungstätigkeit im In- und Ausland, u.a. in Neuseeland, den Niederlanden und Dänemark. Ihre Arbeiten wurden mehrfach ausgezeichnet und sie erhielt Residenz- und Arbeitsstipendien z.B. von der Kunststiftung NRW, der VG Bild-Kunst und der Stiftung Kunstfonds.

Alexandra Gaul lives and works in Berlin. In her exhibitions she combines various media such as photography, drawing, ceramics, text and installation. Everyday objects and situations are often the starting point for her artistic concepts, which are characterized by humour, melancholy and irony. She studied in the class of Prof. Rosemarie Trockel at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf and at the Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig. Since 2003 she has exhibited in Germany and abroad, including in New Zealand, the Netherlands and Denmark. Her work haswon several awards and she has received residencies and grants from the Kunststiftung NRW, the VG Bild-Kunst and the Stiftung Kunstfonds, among others.
